Google brings full 5-band EQ to the Pixel Buds Pro

Introduced earlier this year, Google’s Pixel Buds Pro offer up to 11 hours of battery life and feature ANC (active noise cancellation), which makes them pretty appealing not just for audiophiles, but also for day-to-day users. The fact that they’re priced at $200 gives them an age over its rivals such as the Apple AirPods Pro and Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro, which cost just a little bit more.Despite the Pixel Buds Pro being very tempting on paper, the earbuds were missing a very important feature: a customizable EQ. Unfortunately, it took Google almost five months to brings full 5-band EQ to the Pixel Buds Pro, which is probably inexcusable for such a big company.

The addition of 5-band EQ will allow Pixel Buds Pro users to customize their sound or choose between presets tuned by Google’s audio engineers. According to Google, the update is now delivered via the Pixel Buds app.

Once the new update is installed, simply head to Bluetooth settings / Device Details / Sound / Custom Equalizer and start adjusting the sound settings to your liking. Keep in mind that the new firmware is rolled out in waves, so it might not be available for everyone at the same time.
