GTA fans unite – today we wanted to share a new GTA Vice City 2 Unreal Engine 5 imagining video that fans will surely appreciate.
Yes we know – a sequel to 2002’s Vice City will likely never happen, but for many, the original Grand Theft Auto: Vice City played an important part in their gaming experience during childhood. Created by digital artist ‘TeaserPlay‘, this 2-minute-long fan concept video is a true nostalgia trip featuring Tommy Vercetti as he returns to the fictional Vice City. As always with this artist’s imagining videos, this video was created using Unreal Engine 5 with Nanite, Lumen, and Ray Tracing. Check out the video down below and take a spin down memory lane yourself.
Originally released in 2002 by Rockstar for the PlayStation 2, GTA: Vice City received a remaster in 2021 as part of the remastered Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy collection. Aside from Vice City, this trilogy also includes Grand Theft Auto III, and Vice City’s sequel – Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Many gamers consider Vice City to be among the best entries in the series together with San Andreas and Rockstar’s most recent GTA installment from 2013: Grand Theft Auto V.
Although released a decade ago, GTA V is still going strong with publisher Take-Two reporting to have sold another 5 million units of the game during the final months of 2022. To date, more than 175 million copies of the game have been sold since its initial release in 2013. Another impressive feat is that these strong sales for GTA V have helped jump total sales of the GTA series from 385 million to 395 million worldwide. These sales numbers suggest that other GTA entries have accounted for another 5 million units during the last quarter of 2022, likely mostly coming from Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy collection.
We know that Rockstar is currently actively working on GTA 6, although the game has yet to be officially announced and receive a release date.
