Hybridcasual publisher Habby’s Capybara Go has surpassed $100 million in gross player spending, according to AppMagic estimates.
The milestone was surpassed on February 2nd, 2025, less than three months on from its full worldwide rollout last November. The game also spent 2.5 months in soft launch.
As of February 10th, Capybara Go has earned an estimated $109 million in lifetime player spending, with its true earnings likely higher still when including revenue generated from ads.
Regional differences
Capybara Go is a text-based roguelike infused with idle RPG elements, and it’s found its most lucrative player base thus far in South Korea.
The country had something of a head start with Capybara Go’s soft launch there in October 2024. To date, players in South Korea have contributed 28% of the game’s worldwide player spending, or $30.1 million.
Taiwan currently ranks second for player spending, having contributed 17%, or $18.7 million to Habby’s latest hit. Like South Korea, Taiwan gained access to the soft launch on October 23rd, more than three weeks ahead of the global expansion.
The US, on the other hand, was among the latest regions to gain access to Capybara Go and has already risen to third place in player spending.
With 15% of global spend, US players have contributed $16.1 million to the game since gaining access on November 20th. This is equivalent to 18% of global spending since that time.
Record earnings
Capybara Go’s monthly player spending grew month-on-month through its soft launch and continued after full release, peaking in December 2024 at $33.3 million. This decreased slightly in January 2025 to $32.1 million.
Despite that slight decline in January, Capybara Go recorded its most lucrative day yet during the month, with $1.4 million spent in-game on the 24th. This marked an increase of 64% from the $853,000 earned on January 23rd.
The spike followed the release of Capybara Go’s Version 1.5 update and outperformed the previous peak, which was just shy of $1.4 million on December 24th.
Habby’s other recent hit Archero 2 has also got off to a good start, with over $30 million in player spending during its first month on app stores.
