- Dan Adair has been appointed as VP and general manager of hybridcasual at Homa
- Adair brings 10 years of games industry experience from Zynga and Scopely
Mobile games publisher Homa has made a new addition to its hybridcasual division with the appointment of ex-Scopely general manager Dan Adair.
Adair’s new role is as VP and general manager of hybridcasual, tasking him with ensuring each of Homa’s hybridcasual titles has “transformative impact”.
The hire comes as Homa seeks to expand and strengthen its hybridcasual division, and follows Devin Radford’s appointment as VP of business development in late May.
Greenlight, develop, launch
Adair brings 10 years of games industry experience to his new role at Homa, with a background in product leadership preparing him to make “significant contributions” at Homa. His start in the industry was at Zynga, leading Dawn of Titans and Zynga Poker teams, before moving on to Scopely.
The Monopoly GO! maker is where Adair spent eight of his 10 years in the industry (so far) in general manager and product leadership roles. He was involved in games like Kingdom Maker and WWE Champions, as well as company initiatives like updating frameworks around greenlighting, developing, and launching new games.
As Homa’s VP and general manager of hybridcasual, Adair will again be involved in greenlighting projects – now leading the charge on approving hybridcasual products – and will collaborate with corporate development and product strategy teams to evaluate partnerships and potential M&As.
In refreshing contrast to industry-wide layoffs, Adair is also tasked with strategically recruiting more key team members.
“I’m thrilled to join such an innovative, ambitious, and creative team. Homa’s ability to identify and develop new game concepts in the hypercasual space has already driven tremendous success,” said Adair.
“I’m excited to help the team bring deep, engaging meta systems to those games and new ones so that millions of players can enjoy the next generation of Homa’s titles for years to come.”
All set for the next level
Homa president and CBO Henry Lowenfels commented: “I’ve had the opportunity to work with Dan before, and I’m confident that his product leadership will enable Homa to build innovative games in the hybridcasual space. Dan exemplifies the level of talent and experience we are attracting to Homa as we take the next step in growing our business and building products that audiences will love and play for years.”
One of France’s fastest-growing companies, Homa released 15 games last year and pushed its games portfolio beyond 1.5 billion installs.
