Infinity Nikki styles up $16 million in launch month on mobile

• Infinity Nikki hit $16 million in gross player spending on the final day of its first month

Infold Games’ dress-up adventure game Infinity Nikki earned $16 million in gross player spending during its first month on mobile.

According to AppMagic estimates, this has largely been driven by players in China, who contributed a sizeable $10.1 million of that sum, or 63% of global spending to date.

AppMagic data comprises spending across Google Play and the App Store, so China’s true contribution is likely much higher when considering alternative stores on Android. And as the Nikki series’ first multiplatform game, the title is also making money on PC and console.

Best in class

Focusing solely on mobile, the latest Nikki game made its first $10 million in 14 days and hit $16 million on January 3rd, day 30. That makes it the most successful launch in the franchise, beating Love Nikki’s $383,000 month one revenue more than 40 times over.

Infinity Nikki more than doubled Shining Nikki’s international launch too, which earned $6.2 million over its first month in 2021.

It hasn’t been as lucrative as Infold’s sci-fi dating game Love and Deepspace, however, which generated $46 million gross revenue in its first month last year.

Infinity Nikki’s daily revenue peaked on mobile one day after launch at more than $1.1 million on December 6th. It has been unable to surpass $1 million in daily earnings since and declined gradually thereafter, though still made $787,000 on December 18th, at the end of week two.

Revenue declined much more rapidly in the days that followed, falling below $500,000 for the first time on December 21st and continuing down to $141,000 on December 26th, currently its worst-performing day.

New year, new fashion

Revenue shot back up to $665,000 on December 30th with the Version 1.1 update — almost triple the $234,000 recorded the day prior — as new storylines, platforming challenges and events were introduced to celebrate the new year.

Aptly titled Shooting Star Season, the update also brought, shooting stars to the night sky for an extra boost to Infinity Nikki’s cosy factor, as well as various rewards to unlock. Naturally, the dress-up game’s first major update added plenty of new outfits too, with the seasonal Starfall Radiance and Wings of Wishes costumes available in a gacha banner for a limited time.

The new content added helped to push Infinity Nikki past the $15 million mark by the end of its first month, though a week later player spending has fallen back to less than $200,000 per day.

With the current events and banners due to end on January 24th, there are likely still some weeks to go before the next major content update comes to Infinity Nikki, and perhaps its next revenue surge too.
