‘Tis the season for same-day dispatch: Best Buy and Instacart have teamed up to provide express delivery of electronics and tech products from nearly all big-box locations across the US.
Need a new monitor for your home office? Perhaps a smartwatch to track activity or a slow cooker for family meals? Via the Instacart website or mobile app, simply enter your zip code, select Best Buy’s storefront, and start shopping. Browse everything from laptops, TVs, headphones, and tablets to gaming accessories, streaming media players, and small appliances; add items to the digital cart, checkout, and an Instacart shopper will drop off the order within your designated time frame.
“As people settle into remote work and distance learning routines, we’ve seen increased demand for the same-day delivery of electronics on our marketplace,” Chris Rogers, vice president of retail at Instacart, said in a statement. As part of this partnership, Instacart also introduced its new Certified Delivery feature, which offers customers access to a broader selection of items not previously available for same-day delivery. That includes Bluetooth speakers, noise-cancelling headphones, computer accessories, etc.
“Designed to create a more seamless handoff experience for customers and shoppers alike, Certified Delivery tracks and confirms the delivery and receipt of orders with high-value products,” according to an Instacart blog post. Best Buy shoppers using Certified Delivery must be present to accept their parcel and sign for items in the Instacart app. The feature will roll out with additional (still unnamed) retailers in the coming weeks and months.
