Artificial intelligence company Jabali has launched its end-to-end AI-native game engine, Project Makina, in closed beta.
Project Makina is a generative AI tool suite designed to simplify video game creation, remixing, and publishing.
The closed beta supports over 10 game genres, allowing creators to customise narratives, environments, visuals, and NPCs using natural language.
Key features include emergent games with intelligent characters, branching storylines, multiple endings, and endless variations of arcade games to fuel creativity.
Simplifying game development
“We are revolutionising the future of game development by re-inventing tools, engines and workflows from the ground up, powered by generative AI,” said Jabali CEO Vatsal Bhardwaj.
He added: “Today’s release marks a significant milestone, offering an early glimpse into the possibilities – enabling anyone to create, remix and publish video games. This is just the start; we are eager to extend our platform to empower professional game makers as well.”
The Jabali platform utilises advanced AI models tailored to specific game development tasks, such as generating character portraits and creating game builds. Powered by Project Makina’s multi-agent software workflow, it enables no-code game creation through simple prompts.
Jabali is currently onboarding game makers through its Discord community so they can create fully functional games and share them. The platform is free to use during the closed beta.
The AI company recently raised a $5 million seed round led by BITKRAFT Ventures with participation from Sapphire Sport, Sony Innovation Fund, Canonical Ventures, and angels from Amazon, Google AI, Open AI, and Pinterest.
