Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, scheduled to launch next week, will reportedly come with a “balanced” live-service approach, offering gamers the best experience.
Rocksteady has been quite forthcoming in answering questions from the community regarding the title and what sort of content it would come with. The developers have been busy answering people on their official Discord server, and they have revealed pretty interesting developments about the live service plan for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. To start, it will be cosmetics-only. Moreover, gamers will be able to access previous season battle passes to ensure that no one misses out. Studio Director Darius Sadeghian said:
You will be able to go back and play previous Battle Passes after a Season ends. We believe that our team has created some of the best looking cosmetic items ever, and we want those to be available for our players to enjoy without fear that they’ll miss out on anything.
There will be 75 tiers to complete in Season 1’s Battle Pass and included within will be Outfits, Emotes, Banners, Swatches and some premium currency. This can be used to purchase cosmetic items in the store or go towards purchasing future Premium Battle Passes. We’re also happy to announce that you will be able to go back and play previous Battle Passes after a Season ends.
Apart from that, the developers of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League have emphasized that the game would value the player’s time along with its in-game progression. It deviates slightly from the general live-service titles, which force a gamer to spend countless hours gaming, achieving a level of progression, or even completing the battle pass tiers to access the future ones. Game Director Axel Rydby explained in the Q&A:
We all love playing games, but we also have lives (sort of) and that’s been a big part of our design philosophy making this game. We don’t want the game to feel like a life commitment or be a game where you have to sacrifice a lot to see all the content on offer or feel like you’re not making good progress in the game if you can’t play hundreds of hours. We want this game to be generous, both with your time and with all the features we have to offer.
As mentioned earlier, each new Season will bring a new playable character, a new Elseworld, new gear, and new missions for free.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League launches on February 2nd for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S|X. It won’t feature an offline mode at launch, but that will be added with a future update.
By the way, as you may have read elsewhere, Warner Bros. Games won’t provide codes to media before the game’s advanced access on February 2, when public servers will go live. As such, Wccftech’s review will be a bit late, just like everyone else’s.
