Kohler always has a big presence at CES, and this year is certainly no exception. Since TechHive has a DIY focus, we’ll discuss the company’s offerings that don’t necessarily require you to bring in a professional to install them.
Atmo Fan
Kohler
Bathroom ventilation fans are among the latest home infrastructure to gain smarts. Kohler’s new Atmo Fan monitors the room’s temperature and humidity and can automatically turn on when there’s a lot of moisture in the air, as it will when you’re taking a shower or bath. Users can also schedule on/off times and establish preferences for default fan speed and the brightness—and color temperature—of the integrated LED lighting, which also has a nightlight mode. Kohler says the new fan is quiet, too, producing just 5 sones at low speed.
PureWash E930 Bidet Seat
Kohler
Bidet seats provide all the comfort and cleanliness of a full bidet at a fraction of the price of replacing your throne, and this year Kohler is adding the PureWash E930 Bidet Seat to its collection. This model has a slim, elongated design with a contactless lid and seat—because who wants to touch either? The bidet can heat its seat as well as its water, which it sprays with customizable pressure. You can control the device with its remote control or with Amazon Alexa or Google Home voice commands, including how it sprays, dries, and operates its UV cleaning mode. The Kohler PureWash E930 Bidet Seat will be available in your choice of black or white.
SpaViva Handshower
Kohler
The all-new SpaViva Handshower features Kohler’s Katalyst air-induction technology that fuses air into the water to producer larger water drops that retain heat longer. This new model can also produce a “microbubble” spray, with bubbles 100 microns or smaller to provide a deeper clean. You can also swap out four different rotating attachments in the center of the handheld shower for scrubbing, exfoliating, massaging, or delivering a “bubble” cleanse. The attachments can be recharged using a magnetic dock when they’re not in use.
