Krafton has appointed former Garena CEO Jin Oh as its new chief global publishing officer (CGPO).
Come September, Oh will lead Krafton’s global publishing and international business operations with a focus on expanding the company’s presence in global markets and discovering new IPs.
Oh is a Cornell University graduate who’s previously held leadership positions including president of global publishing and esports at Riot Games, where he drove the global success of League of Legends.
He also served as managing director at Blizzard Entertainment, playing key roles in launching and supporting major global IPs.
Enhancing competitiveness
“I am very pleased to join Krafton,” said Oh. “I am committed to delivering results that will satisfy users and fans, leveraging my experience and capabilities in the global games industry.”
The PUBG company expects Oh’s recruitment to boost its global competitiveness by discovering new IPs, improving services, and expanding publishing efforts.
In a surprising move, Krafton has acquired formerly owned Microsoft studio Tango Gameworks and the Hi-Fi Rush IP in a strategic expansion move.
The move will see all games in the existing catalogue such as The Evil Within series, Ghostwire: Tokyo, and the original Hi-Fi Rush game continue to be available on all current platforms.
