- Kwalee, Story Giant Games, PlanetPlay and Joe Jonas join forces to support reforestation, renewable energy initiatives and ocean cleanups

British mobile games publisher Kwalee has teamed up with PlanetPlay to support environmental causes throughout October, including reforestation, renewable energy initiatives and ocean cleanups.
Musician and actor Joe Jonas is also backing the campaign, which is expected to encourage players to get involved in improving the environment and having a positive impact on the planet. The campaign will bring together an alliance of gamers and influencers.
He will also bring attention to Kwalee’s mobile game Text Express: Word Adventure, developed by Story Giant Games, which is working with PlanetPlay to support these initiatives.
A greener world
Through the Make Green Tuesday Moves project, PlanetPlay adds one new game to its platform on the first Tuesday of every month, and this October, Text Express: Word Adventure has joined the ranks.
The game now features a Green Planet Pack that can be bought to unlock a unique train and outfit customisation for Tilly, an adventurer exploring many mobile puzzles in-game this month. Proceeds from the pack will support certified environmental efforts, encouraging players to spend for a good cause.
“We’re excited to see Joe Jonas on board for this amazing initiative. His support will help spread the word and encourage more players to get involved,” said Kwalee senior product marketing manager Lottie Huggan.
“Through the Green Planet Pack and the Make Green Tuesday Moves campaign initiatives, we are merging the fun of Text Express with positive change, and we take pride in contributing to PlanetPlay’s incredibly important global environmental work.”
Kwalee became the publisher of Text Express: Word Adventure this spring, marking its debut into the casual mobile games space with a game which won Best Mobile Puzzle Game at the Pocket Gamer Awards 2022.
Text Express has long sought to enrich its players’ vocabularies through storytelling and thousands of crossword puzzles, and now, this initiative with PlanetPlay will see the game conserve the environment, too.
“Helping our planet is something I really care about, and the best part is we can all do that while playing games as part of PlanetPlay’s Make Green Tuesday Moves initiative,” said Joe Jonas.

A team effort
More than a dozen games are getting involved in this October’s Make Green Tuesday Moves, including Ten Square Games’ Fishing Clash, Trailmix’s Love & Pies, Niantic’s Peridot, Tripledot’s Solitaire and Sybo’s Subway Surfers.
Collectively, the participating games have over 36 million daily active players and an estimated 400 million monthly active users.
