A new Star Citizen release, Alpha 3.18: Lasting Legacies, is now live, introducing new features such as a brand new universe-wide persistence system, a new profession, new ships, and more in what is the biggest game update to date.
Star Citizen – Alpha 3.18: Lasting Legacies introduces Persistent Entity Streaming, a new tech that keeps track of all physical objects in the game moved or placed by players on the server they were playing on, making for a universe that feels more alive and lived in than ever. This tech is just another addition to the system that serves as the basis for full-in-game persistence and Server Meshing.
The new Star Citizen update also brings the Salvage profession, a new non-combat path that allows pilots to salvage valuable materials and sell them to others. The new profession comes alongside a selection of new tools that make this economic profession viable to experience the game with.
These are only some of the additions featured in the Star Citizen – Alpha 3.18: Lasting Legacies, which also include new ships, new missions, new derelict settlements, visual improvements, and more. The full update notes can be found here.
Star Citizen is now available on PC worldwide. Additional information on the game developed by Cloud Imperium can be found on its official website.
