Intel’s 11th generation Core H-series processors are coming to Lenovo’s Legion gaming laptops.
In January, Lenovo refreshed these PCs with AMD’s Ryzen 5000 mobile CPUs. Now the company is incorporating Intel’s gaming-focused H-series chips into various models.
The most powerful system, the Legion 7i, arrives in June in the US, starting at $1,769. You can max out the specs with an Intel Core i9-11980HK processor and Nvidia’s laptop-based RTX 3080 graphics card running at 165 watts.
The 16-inch laptop also touts an impressive 2,560-by-1,600-pixel resolution across a wider 16:10 aspect ratio. The same display can also be bought with a 165Hz refresh rate. Another default perk is the RGB lighting on the keyboard.
The Legion 5i Pro, meanwhile, is another 16-inch laptop. It too lands in June but starts at $1,329. The main difference is the toned-down specs. It can be configured with either the Intel Core i7-11800H or i7-11400H processor, but there’s no option to buy it with an RTX 3080 GPU. Instead, the 5i Pro can be outfitted with Nvidia’s lower-end RTX 3050, and 3050Ti GPUs up to an RTX 3070.
You can further bring down the price by buying the laptop with only 8GB of RAM. The option for 2TB of SSD has also been nixed. However, it still comes with the 2,560-by-1,600 screen.
For gamers on a budget, there’s the Legion 5i, which will be available in 15-inch and 17-inch screen sizes. The product will arrive in July starting at $969.
In terms of specs, the 5i models are pretty similar to the 5i Pro. You can buy them with either an Intel Core i7-11800H or i7-11400H processor. The GPU options also range from an RTX 3050 to an RTX 3070. However, the displays start with a default screen resolution at 1080p.
The 5i 17-inch version is also quite heavy at 6.6 pounds. The other products weigh in at 5.3 to 5.5 pounds. All three Legion models also feature two Thunderbolt 4 ports, Wi-Fi 6, and a 720p web camera.
Outside of the laptops, Lenovo is also preparing a new gaming monitor with a 360Hz refresh rate and Nvidia’s G-Sync support. The Legion Y25g-30 will arrive in October for $699. It will feature a 24.5-inch 1080p display with a 1-millisecond response time.
