Lenovo’s Legion Phone Duel is a gaming-focused smartphone that’s taking a bit of a sideways approach.
The Legion Phone Duel is out now for European buyers, and it’s a smartphone that’s built entirely for gaming on the go, all the way down to its natural horizontal orientation. Whether you’re getting in some game streaming by way of Stadia or enjoying your favorite gacha title, you’re meant to hold it in landscape mode.
It’s built with visual fidelity in mind, with a 6.65-inch screen that features a 1080 x 2340 resolution and a 144Hz refesh rate. Powered by a Snapdragon 865 Plus chip with 16GB RAM, it can handle just about any game you throw at it, plus 5G support to take your favorite titles on the go.
It should also provide several hours’ worth of gaming goodness with its 5,000mAh of battery capacity. Two 2,5000mAh offer this amount of juice, which is meant to offer you up to seven hours of “intermittent gaming,” according to to Lenovo. When it’s time to charge it back up, it can support 90W, which is pretty impressive.
But there’s more to the Legion Phone Duel than being built for gaming performance. It also has a few interesting quirks, like side trigger buttons on the phone that can be used during gameplay. It also features a 20MP front-facing camera with a 64MP and 16MP ultra-wide array to round things out.
The phone is available now for European buyers for £899. That’s about $1,200. Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be any planned rollout for US buyers at the moment. Still, if using a phone primarily on its side sounds interesting to you, it could certainly be worth importing based on its odd factor alone.
