Developer Four Quarter‘s Loop Hero has reached a million downloads on iOS and Android just two months after its launch on mobile.
The game was published by Devolver Digital for PCs and consoles and by Playdigious on mobile. Its early success indicates that mobile players are still eager for more Loop Hero.
This roguelike game puts you in a time loop adventure where you are tasked with saving the world from chaos caused by an evil undead lich.
You can guide your hero on expeditions, upgrade them and find new equipment to help you progress towards the final battle to restore order.
Start for free, pay to finish
The game’s first chapter is free to play with the whole adventure available for $6.99. In the full game, you can unlock new classes, cards, and guardians as you strive to break the cycle of despair.
Furthermore, Loop Hero has received a revamped interface that includes game centre achievements and cloud save functionality. This allows players to share their progress between Android and iOS devices.
The game is also compatible with MFi controllers and optimised for the iPhone 15, including the Pro Max model.
UK-based games publisher and developer Kwalee recently invested in Devolver Digital, taking a 3.58% minority stake in the business. Devolver has now successfully raised around £7.9 million ($10 million) to strengthen its balance sheet.
