Cyprus-based Mad Crusader, the platform for design, development, and the publishing of new IPs, is now accepting applications for enrollment in the second batch of its Game IP Incubation programme, which is due to begin on October 21, 2024.
The remote programme will aim to accelerate the time-to-market required in going live while taking aspiring game makers from an initial concept to a comprehensive business documentation package, supporting ideas with the potential to become franchises.
The course will span eight months.
Democratising IP creation
Mad Crusader’s second batch of the Game IP Incubation programme comes after 10 such applicants graduated from the first. Each has developed game IP concepts across action RPG, stealth, and FPS genres with multimedia potential.
The programme was founded by Wargaming veterans Yarr Rash, Al King and Jacob Beucler and is backed by $200,000 of their own investments. King is also an ex-brand director at EA and Beucler an ex-producer at LEGO. Over four rounds within two years, they will invest $30 million in “premium double-A game IPs developed within the programme”.
Residents and investors in the programme will have an equity stake in the product as well as in Mad Crusader’s game development holding.
“We founded Mad Crusader because we believe we have a solution to the biggest paradox in today’s global entertainment industry: everyone wants new IPs, but no one wants to invest, because it is a risk,” said Rash.
“Our program democratises IP creation, tapping into the vast creative potential of talents worldwide who may not have access to traditional educational or industry pathways.”
On the subject of building IP we recently spoke with Fingersoft CEO Jaakko Kylmäoja about Hill Climb Racing and building the world’s most downloaded racing games.
