Pocketpair has rolled out a major new Palworld patch via Steam with the update being rolled out on Xbox later on.
Last week, the developer already rolled out a small update for the game containing bug fixes and cheating countermeasures. This update was later also deployed for those playing on Game Pass. Fast forward one week, and we now have a major patch for Pocketpair’s hit title, containing plenty of bug fixes, key config additions, and more. As mentioned, this update is currently only available through Steam, but will be released on Xbox “as soon as it is ready”.
This new update packs several fixes for crashing issues, where the game would either crash under certain conditions or where the game would crash and save data would be corrupted when the guild’s total number of pals captured reached around 7000. We’re pretty sure this is more than welcome fix. It should be noted, however, that save data that has already been corrupted prior to this update will still be unable to load. Pocketpair has said to be working on a permanent fix for this issue.
The new patch also adds support for mouse side keys and numeric keypad in keyboard key configuring. In addition, the development team has promised that additional improvements are being planned, including support for interact key configuration.
Another welcome fix that comes with this patch is a fix for pathing in base which could result in Pals getting stuck. We highly suggest reading the full release notes for this new major Palworld patch here.
Palworld is available worldwide now through early access on Steam and Game Pass. The game has been an insane hit for Pocketpair, selling over 8 million copies of the game on Steam alone. In addition, the total number of players across Steam and Xbox have surpassed 19 million as of yesterday – impressive for sure. Yesterday, Microsoft announced that it’s working directly with Pocketpair to bring improvements to the game. “On Xbox’s part, we’re working with Pocketpair to help provide support for Xbox versions of the game”, Microsoft wrote yesterday. “We’re providing support to enable dedicated servers, offering engineering resources to help with GPU and memory optimization, speeding up the process to make Palworld updates available for players, and working with the team to optimize the title for our platform.”
