$50 (was $60)
Mario & Luigi: Brothership is the first entry in the series to release on a home console–though it also feels right at home on Switch in handheld mode.
Brothership has garnered mixed reviews from critics, but it holds a 79 Metascore on review aggregator Metacritic (a GameSpot sister site). Fans of the series have been a bit more positive, as Brothership’s user score average is 8.4/10.
The duo’s latest turn-based RPG is set in Concordia, a once prosperous world that has been broken into an island chain; it’s your job to reconnect it.
You can also save on the most recent platformer in the Mario series, as Super Mario Bros. Wonder is available for $45 (was $60). The title brings Mario back to his side-scrolling roots, and the addition of Wonder Flowers makes the stages more dynamic than ever before. Collecting these magical objects radically reworks the level, causing pipes to come alive or enemies to stampede across the screen. Our Super Mario Bros. Wonder review gave it a 9/10, and it’s an easy recommendation for all Switch owners.
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is also discounted to $45 (was $60). Consider giving the remaster a look if you want to enjoy engaging turn-based combat and a wonderful cast of characters. Our Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door review awarded the charming role-playing game a 9/10, thanks to dynamic combat, beautiful HD visuals, and hilarious writing that’s held up nicely over the years.
Woot really is having a Mario…. party, as you can also save big on Super Mario Odyssey ($40), New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe ($40), Mario Kart 8 Deluxe ($38), and Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury ($41). Oh, and an actual Mario Party is included as well: Super Mario Party is on sale for $40.
Note: Nintendo Switch games are region-free
One quirk about shopping for Switch games at Woot these days is that you aren’t guaranteed to receive a North American version of physical titles. Nintendo Switch is region-free, however, so if you’re sent a UK or Japanese version, you’ll still be able to play it in English without any issues. If you decide to purchase DLC, just make sure you’re purchasing the DLC from the same region.
This adds an extra step, as you’ll need to access a different region’s eShop on your Switch with a new Nintendo account. This is understandably a dealbreaker for some users, but most of the Switch games on sale at Woot don’t have DLC. But you should keep this in mind before buying a game with a heavy emphasis on DLC, such as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
