A new Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.1 mod that was released online over the weekend addresses one of the most glaring shortcomings of the collection.
The Framerate Unlocker mod, which is now available for download from Nexus Mods, does exactly what its name implies: unlocking the framerate and allowing Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater to run at framerates higher than 60 frames per second. As the mod is still being worked on, it comes with a few issues, such as working properly only when the game is running in the borderless windowed mod enabled by the HDFix mod, but it’s still a step in the right direction to make this version of the game the definitive one.
As mentioned above, Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.1 leaves a lot to be desired on PC, and even increasing the resolution doesn’t do a whole lot to make these remasters look any better than they did in the previous HD Collection. For this reason, the HD texture packs released for the second and third entries in the series a few days back are a true godsend for those playing the game at high resolutions.
The Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.1 is now available on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Nintendo Switch worldwide.
