Special in-browser toolbar options are an important part of the internet for many. Some browsers continue to iterate on new options that make them feel more modern. Microsoft Edge is one browser that’s keen on reinventing itself. Its use of special menus and pop-up toolbars is proof of that.
The latest update to the Microsoft Edge browser is an especially modern one. TechRadar reports that it introduces a pop-up menu that keeps bookmarks, history, and collections in one place. That means there’s no need to manually switch between menus.
In the new pop-up collections menu, users have far more organization options than before. There, browsers can add links, arrange them into folders, add cover images, and even notes about saved pages. It’s a great research tool, allowing users to add commentary while saving destinations. Plus, it’s easier than ever to make collections with this new toolbar option. Users can swap back to the original UI if desired, too.
The new collections menu keeps bookmarks and history in one place. There’s no need to keep clicking back and forth in Edge to see everything. A similar facelift has already come for both favorites and history pages. Users had been testing the special pop-up menu for Edge’s favorites options for some time.
Right now, the toolbar update is only available for some Windows Insider Channel users. It’s still in its earliest stages of testing. According to Windows Latest, it should be making its way to Edge users’ Canary and Dev branches as early as next year.
