Nazara subsidiary Absolute Sports has signed an asset purchase agreement to acquire all the assets of Deltias Gaming.
The transaction involves an all-cash payment of $900K (~INR 7.5 crores), to be paid in one or more instalments, and is expected to close within 45 days.
Deltias Gaming generated $575K (~INR 4.8 crores) in revenue for the twelve months ending June 2024. Absolute Sports will use its cash reserves to finance the deal.
Reaching new audiences
Absolute Sports is currently the parent company of Sportskeeda, Soap Central, and Pro Football Network, and it wants to expand its presence in video games and esports media in the US region.
“With this acquisition, Absolute Sports will now serve upwards of 5 Million US games enthusiasts with high-quality gaming and esports-related news and analysis content on our various properties,” said Absolute Sports CEO Ajay Pratap Singh.
The acquisition grants the group access to a large audience on YouTube and the popular gaming streaming network Twitch under Deltia’s Gaming brand.
Nazara, on the other hand, has since acquired multiple companies, including Paper Boat Apps and Kiddopia, since it committed $100 million to expanding globally through merger and acquisition deals in March 2024.
