We are expecting new MacBook Pro models from Apple this autumn, and now more information has emerged suggesting that the new models will offer similar specs and a higher price.
There are many indications that Apple will launch new MacBook Pro models in 14in and 16in variants, both with the M1X chip, this autumn. The theory that new MacBooks are coming is supported by product registrations in databases in Russia and China.
Now Twitter technology leaker Dylandkt claims that the new models will have a higher price than their predecessors, something that does not sound unlikely or for that matter unreasonable, given that many Apple users are willing to open up their wallets.
However, we can’t help but think that if the 14in MacBook Pro costs more than £1,799/$1,799 very few people will rush to purchase it.
Dylandkt writes in a separate tweet that his sources also claim that both the 14in and 16in models will have the same M1X processor. “It is a clear win for those who prefer the smaller size, but expect a significantly higher price for the 14-inch compared to the 13-inch,” he writes.
It’s comforting to note that both MacBook Pro’s that are coming this fall will have the same chip and the same performance. It’s definitely a win for those who like to opt for the smaller size but expect a notable increase in price for the 14 inch over the 13 inch.

Previous rumours have suggested that the M1X processor will have twice as many graphics cores as the M1, and 50 percent more processor cores. According to one source, the memory will still be limited to 16GB, but according to another rumour it could increase to a maximum of 36GB. IT’s also thought that additional PCI express channels will be added to provide support for more Thunderbolt connectors and more external screens.
We should see a new 14in screen size. This won’t be larger than the current 13in model, instead the screen should stretch almost all the way to the edge.
