If you don’t regularly tune in to Jon Prosser’s Front Page News YouTube channel then you might have missed the latest instalment that went online on 24 February 2021. If you are a Mac fan eager to hear news about the next version of the iMac then you really ought to take a look, because probably all your dreams are about to come true!
If Prosser’s sources are correct then we could be about to see the biggest design change to the iMac for more than a decade.
Cast your mind back to a time long before the arrival of aluminium iMacs, way back before the angle-poise/sunflower design, to the legendary CRT iMacs that came in fruity colours. According to Prosser’s source the new iMac will come in a variety of colours!
These colours are said to take their inspiration from the 2020 iPad Air – which comes in Space Grey, Silver, Rose Gold, Green and Sky Blue.
It’s been a long time since Apple sold colourful iMacs: The Blue Dalmatian and Flower Power iMacs came out twenty years ago on 22 February 2001 (are you feeling old?)
Prosser also reveals some information about the rumoured smaller Mac Pro. He says that he doesn’t know what Apple’s going to call it but indicates that his source suggests it will be like a Mac mini Cube – like the G4 Cube. Or like three to four Mac mini stacked on top of each other.
We have a round up of all the rumours about the 2021 iMac, which is also said to have a bigger 23in display and feature the M1 or M1X Chip.
