Last Friday saw the start of sales for the second-generation iPhone SE, and Apple will be pleased: the evidence indicates high demand for the new budget mobile. Customers may be less pleased because they will have to wait a long time for their device.
According to Cult of Mac, customers in a wide range of countries, including the UK, the US, Australia, France and Germany, have been told that deliveries could be delayed until 19 May.
(Fortunately for our Swedish colleagues, products ordered from the Apple Store are expected to be delivered within 1-2 weeks.)
The new iPhone SE is first and foremost aimed at users who have an older model and are not prepared – or cannot afford – to upgrade to an iPhone 11 or 11 Pro. To push the price down as much as possible, Apple has chosen to reuse the design from iPhone 8, and it’s been discovered that many iPhone 8 components work in an SE.
