In April 2020, Apple launched the second-generation iPhone SE, a budget handset that replaced the old faithful iPhone 8.
According to the Japanese site Macotakara, Apple plans to launch the third-generation iPhone SE in the spring, specifically in April. This might not sound like a huge surprise, coming 12 months after the previous launch, but Apple’s SE models haven’t followed such neat schedules in the past; there was a four-year gap between the first and second versions.
The site does not offer any details of the upcoming third-gen SE, mentioning it only in passing while discussing the launch of the new AirPods. But it will probably be equipped with an A14 processor and other upgraded components.
In the autumn, there may be another, slightly larger model with an LCD screen of 5.5in or 6.1in, which we expect to be called the iPhone SE Plus. To make the handset as small as possible, it may feature narrower bezels, something that many users would appreciate.
