A mysterious problem has been reported by some owners of the new M1 Mac mini. Affected users see unwanted pink squares or pixels on the connected display, which of course is not optimal.
It seems that the problem, reported by MacRumors, is more common when connecting via HDMI than with Thunderbolt, so if you have the opportunity to use the latter connector, it may be worth a try. Otherwise, you can try changing the resolution in System Preferences and see if this helps.

This isn’t the first problem to afflict the new Mac minis. Back in November we reported on an issue with Bluetooth.
