While the deals and the stats of the gaming world are important, nothing would happen without the research, funding and, of course, development that goes into making a great game.
So here’s a collection of the most exciting new mobile games being released right now, the developers and publishers behind them, and why, exactly, they’ve made the cut.
Royal Kingdom
Dream Games’ first Royal Match spinoff Royal Kingdom has officially released after 19 months in soft launch, giving fans the world over a wave of new match-3 content to play through with a dash of city builder mechanics for good measure.
Developing upon the huge success of its predecessor, Royal Kingdom tasks players with solving plenty of puzzles on their way to building kingdoms, opening new districts and defending the land against the Dark King’s evil forces.
DC Heroes United
With a Warner Bros. licence in hand, Genvid has released a new interactive title called DC Heroes United. Part streaming series and part roguelike mobile game, weekly updates will unlock new battles and decision-based content for players to engage with which will in turn influence the direction of the series.
Many popular DC heroes and villains are due to appear including Batman, Superman, Bane and Poison Ivy.
League of Masters: Auto Chess
In a blend of auto chess and RPG mechanics, Games of Masters’ League of Masters: Auto Chess has finally reached its global release. After more than a year in soft launch, the fully fledged launch brings with it a comic-style PvE campaign for story-driven enthusiasts and 135 arenas to choose from for fans of PvP battle action.
Rubber Duck: Idle Squad Game
Rubber ducks may not be the likeliest of superheroes, but in Nanoo Company’s squad-based auto battler Rubber Duck: Idle Squad Game they most certainly take top billing. The game sees players take on wave after wave of enemies and face down bosses as Rubber Duck Q, the latest recruit in the heroic Super Ducks team.
Vinland Tales: Viking Survival
Colossi Games’ Vinland Tales combines village building, an open-world sandbox and action RPG elements into a Viking-themed survival game on mobile. Whether players spend their days chopping trees or hunting rabbits, resource management is key to successful colony living.
TED Tumblewords
Ted Tumblewords is the latest daily word game courtesy of Netflix Games. Offering subscribers an ad-free daily puzzle to solve, the title claims to sharpen critical thinking skills as players spell the longest word they can find from randomised rows of letters. For the more competitive wordsmiths, letter-based bonuses can also help maximise scores.
