Produced alongside our friends at PocketGamer.fun – THE place to discover your next favourite mobile games – here’s our pick of the best fresh-this-week titles.
While the deals and the stats of the gaming world are important, nothing would happen without the research, funding and, of course, development that goes into making a great game. PocketGamer.fun brings you latest games, lets you see them in action and download right from the page.
So here are the most exciting new mobile games right now, the developers and publishers behind them, and why, exactly, they’ve made the cut.
Asphalt Legends Unite
Gameloft’s racing franchise Asphalt is well-known for its turbo-charged visuals and sleek, shiny vehicles, and it’s turning those up another gear with Asphalt Legends Unite. Out now on mobile, PC and all modern consoles, this latest iteration offers the classic Career mode, new Team Pursuit content, and co-op game modes to enjoy with friends online.
Asphalt Legends Unite even allows players to transfer their save files from Asphalt 9 as the old title bows out. There’s full cross-platform functionality too, allowing mobile gamers to race against their PC and console compadres on the go.
Stray Cat Falling
Cats may always land on their feet, but in Stray Cat Falling they land inside jars too. Or rather they should, in the hands of skilled players; that’s the very aim of the game after all – fitting as many fuzzy felines into a jar as is physically possible, no matter how bouncy they are.
And unlike real cats, these cuddly creatures can be merged together into much larger toons on their way to the jar, overcoming floating pinball-esque barriers, time limits, and other challenges too. There are already over 100 levels to clear in this latest Pulsmo game, released only a couple of months after the similarly catty Stray Cat Doors 3.
Laid-Back Camp: Puzzle Camp
The Laid-Back Camp series has turned to match-3 with its latest mobile game Laid-Back Camp: Puzzle Camp, based on Afro’s manga series and subsequent Crunchyroll anime. The series follows the adventures of Rin Shima, Nadeshiko Kagamihara and friends as they explore various Japanese campsites.
Developer Cozy Trail Games holds the reins around its latest hike, with match-3 gameplay helping the heroines on their way. And while Laid-Back Camp: Puzzle Camp is currently exclusive to Japan, the first mobile game in the series, Laid-Back Camp All-in-One, did release globally in 2023.
Stickman Master III
Stick-figure battles never get old, especially in a world with over 70 fighters to choose from. Add five factions and global leaderboards besides, and Loongcheer Game’s Stickman Master III has plenty of content to get stuck into.
This hack-and-slash RPG has vibrant visuals, smooth animations and shadow masters all around, but when players are too busy to keep up with the action, handy idle mechanics can help earn effortless rewards. That makes it that much easier to jump back into the fight, team up with pals online and cause some absolute mayhem.
Roia
Where better to take a break from that mayhem than Emoak’s new mobile game Roia, a cel-shaded puzzler all about the ebb and flow of water. Starting from a sprinkle and turning to a trickle, over time players will navigate an aspiring river on its journey down the mountainside, taking on a minimalist, meditative mission to reach the sea.
Roia keeps things interesting on the way down with a variety of obstacles to overcome, whether that means directing the river away from flocks of sheep, crossing through forests, or even providing some dangerous watersports fun to mountain kayakers.
Emoak’s second mobile game after the light-based Lyxo, Roia certainly establishes this dev as a master of the minimalist scene.
