Following the launch of Parallels Desktop 16, competitor VMware Fusion has announced a similar Big Sur-ready upgrade.
VMware unveiled version 12 of its popular virtualization tool Fusion on Thursday 20 August.
It offers full support for macOS Big Sur, external graphics cards and open-source system Kubernetes. It also offers higher performance, increased security and various optimisations, according to the company.
The best news is that a free version called Fusion 12 Player will also launch alongside Fusion 12 and Fusion 12 Pro.
A Fusion 12 license costs $149, but users of previous versions can upgrade for $79. The Fusion 12 Pro license, on the other hand, costs $199, while that upgrade costs $99.
More information will appear on VMware’s website shortly.
