The Nintendo Switch 2 may release this June worldwide, and the release window will be announced during the dedicated April Direct, according to a former Nintendo employee.
Speaking on the latest episode of the Kit & Krysta podcast, a former sales lead going by the name of Sean suggested that the system is likely going to be released at the start of the summer, end of the school year, as Nintendo would have kids in school talking about the system up until its release. As the former employee is sure Nintendo would want the system out before the end of summer, a June launch is very likely, possibly in mid-June or a bit later than that, due to good strategic reasons, including the ability for retailers to sell bundles during the holiday shopping season. If the console misses this release window, Sean added, it is because something wasn’t ready. As for the price, the former Nintendo employee thinks the system will cost $400, which is the price analysts think will be the best to highlight that the Nintendo Switch 2 will be a better system than its predecessor without alienating its core audience.
Even though nothing has been officially confirmed regarding the console’s specs, we have a pretty good idea of how much the Nintendo Switch 2 will be more powerful than its predecessor. The better CPU, in particular, is something that some game developers are looking forward to, as it will address one of the biggest issues of the original system that led to performance drops.
The Nintendo Switch 2 will launch this year on a yet-to-be-confirmed release date. More information on the system will be revealed during the aforementioned dedicated Direct, scheduled for April 2nd.
