Nothing, the company founded by former OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei, is set to release its second smartphone, the Nothing Phone 2, next month. The phone is already generating a lot of excitement, thanks to its unique design and its promise of flagship-level performance at a lower price.
Pei has been slowly revealing facts about the upcoming phone that are meant to set it apart from the competition. So far, we have tiny details on the design and almost a full set of specs on deck.
However, as we wait for the official unveiling of the device on July 11th, more factoids continue to roll in on what to expect. For example, today Nothing’s official Twitter account revealed that the Nothing Phone (2), and eventually the Nothing Phone (1), will include a Glyph Sound Pack composed exclusively by House music group Swedish House Mafia.
The new sound pack will be part of the new Glyph Composer which will allow you to remix and create your own custom sounds based on the existing tones. The composer includes pads that when tapped can trigger different light and sound combinations, allowing you to create unique Glyph ringtones and lighting effects.
The Glyph Composer and Swedish House Mafia Glyph Sound Pack will not be exclusive to the Nothing Phone (2), but will also come to the Nothing Phone (1) as revealed in the announcement. This means that this will most likely be a feature included with Nothing OS 2.0, which will be made available for both devices.
The Glyph interface has been one of the standout features of the Nothing Phone (1) as I am sure will also be the case with the Nothing Phone (2). Having the capability to create your own remixes of light combinations and house music tones will definitely be a draw for fans of customization. I can’t wait to see what else Nothing has in store for its new device.
