OpenAI is opening new offices in several cities across the world including Paris, NYC, Seattle, Singapore and Brussels.
This is in addition to the company’s existing offices in London, Tokyo, San Francisco and Dublin.
The ChatGPT company is accelerating its global expansion efforts after raising a staggering $6.6 billion in funding and a $4 billion credit line just days after.
Southeast Asia expansion
Speaking to TechCrunch, an OpenAI spokesperson said the company is building a team in Singapore as a hub to support customers and partners in the Asia Pacific region.
Also, OpenAI’s managing director, Oliver Jay, will oversee international operations and global expansion from Singapore.
The company is currently hiring engineers and plans to open its Singapore office by the end of the year, marking its second office in Asia after launching in Tokyo in April
“Singaporeans are some of the highest per capita users of ChatGPT worldwide, with the number of weekly active users in Singapore doubling since the beginning of the year,” OpenAI said in a statement.
