According to X/Twitter user Midori, the soon-to-be-released remake of the third entry in the series will receive the post-game story campaign The Answer, available in the FES release of the original, as DLC in the future. As ATLUS usually doesn’t release any major additional content for its games, preferring to include it in full re-releases, there’s obviously some skepticism surrounding this reveal, but it seems like the release of this Persona 3 Reload DLC will mark a change for both ATLUS and SEGA. Head on the Block, a leaker previously known as I’m a Hero Too, who revealed the existence of the remake of the third entry in the series before its official announcement, confirmed the DLC is real, although it won’t be called The Answer and will not add a female main character option like in Persona 3 Portable. The planned DLC also won’t be major, and there won’t be a lot of it.
As for why SEGA and ATLUS have changed their approach to the series’ additional content, Head on the Block mentioned how SEGA, in particular, wants the Persona series to be a household name, and they want continuous revenue for their single-player games. As such, Persona 6 is going to have “seasons” of additional content, and one of the reasons ATLUS’ timeline changed in regards to the game is because of story DLC. Two major additions were also made to the sixth entry in the series, but they are not launching with the game.
Persona 3 Reload launches on February 2nd on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Xbox One worldwide.
