Mobile app store Aptoide has partnered with developer Plarium to bring RAID: Shadow Legends to its alternative marketplace.
The title has been a huge hit since it launched in 2018, with AppMagic estimates putting App Store and Google Play revenue at $1.8 billion. It should be noted that Plarium also runs its own successful web store, while the game is also available on PC.
Aptoide claims its network has 50 million monthly active users and over one million apps. The partnership follows Aptoide’s recent open launch of its iOS store in the EU. Plarium’s move to release on the store means it will have to adopt Apple’s alternative business terms in the European Union.
RAID’s launch on Aptoide coincides with its six-year anniversary event, The Festival of Creation, which runs from March 5th to April 2nd, 2025.
Community expansion
“The addition of RAID is a landmark for Aptoide and alternative distribution,” said Aptoide CEO and co-founder Paulo Trezentos.
“It’s incredibly exciting to bring one of the largest titles in mobile gaming to our global community as part of our commitment to give users more freedom and flexibility on where they find their games. As a fan of RAID: Shadow Legends since its launch, I’m excited for even more people to get lost in Teleria.”
Plarium VP of business development Ronen Gross commented: “We are proud of the amazing community RAID: Shadow Legends has built over the last six years and look forward to growing the passionate fanbase further through the Aptoide launch.
“Our goal is to continue expanding RAID to new regions and platforms so it can be available to everyone.”
