Sony Interactive Entertainment has named Olivier Courtemanche as head of mobile at PlayStation Studios.
Courtemanche was previously named co-head of mobile, product development. He was appointed to the role alongside Kris Davis to lead the company’s mobile strategy.
Meanwhile, Justin Kubiak has been named as the company’s new head of business development and partnerships. He’s previously served as licensing and developer partnership for mobile at PlyStation Studios since November 22nd.
PocketGamer.biz has reached out for comment on the moves and clarification on Davis’ role at the company, but has not heard back in time for publication.
Strategy shift
The job changes at PlayStation’s mobile division come just a few weeks after SIE closed its internal mobile games development studio Neon Koi.
“While mobile remains a priority growth area for the studio business, we are in the very early stage of our mobile efforts,” said Sony’s Studio Business Group CEO Hermen Hulst.
“To achieve success in this area we need to concentrate on titles that are in-line with PlayStation Studios’ pedigree and have the potential to reach more players globally.
“With this re-focused approach, Neon Koi will close, and its mobile action game will not be moving forward. I want to express my gratitude to everyone at Neon Koi for their hard work and endless passion to innovate.”
