DeNA and The Pokémon Company‘s smash-hit new mobile title Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket has rocketed past $400 million in gross revenue in just 10 weeks.
After launching globally on October 30th, 2024, TCG Pocket reached this latest milestone on January 6th, 2025. As of January 7th, it stands at an impressive $403 million in lifetime earnings between the App Store and Google Play.
According to AppMagic estimates, Japan is by far the most monetised audience for this Pokémon powerhouse, having contributed 43% of earnings to date despite comprising just 9% of total downloads. This equates to $172 million from Japan alone.
The country’s share of player spending has also risen slightly over time, up 1% since Pocket’s first $100 million, which was achieved in its first 17 days.
The US’s spending share has fallen by 2% since then, but still maintains second place with 26% of total spend, or $104 million. This makes it the only other country to have contributed nine figures.
To be the very best
Looking at Pokémon TCG Pocket’s performance over time, the title surpassed $200 million on its 31st day and took another 35 to make $200 million more. Being four days slower may not mark a significant decline, but daily earnings through Pocket’s second month were also more varied and sporadic than in the first.

During month one, Pocket recorded daily revenues below $6 million on just six days, and peaked at $8.4 million on November 22nd. Across the month, the card game averaged $6.5 million per day in player spending.
By contrast, Pocket’s second month saw a much more significant 20 days below $6 million and averaged $5.5 million per day overall. Yet the second month also contained its most lucrative day yet, with a record high of $8.7 million on December 21st.
This followed four days after Pocket’s first pack expansion, Mythical Island, which introduced more than 80 new cards and illustrations, encouraging a new wave of spending.

Despite launching so late into the year, Pocket’s incredibly strong performance over its first two months was enough to make it 2024’s third most lucrative new mobile game.
Now entering into 2025 and more than a week into its third month, Pocket’s daily revenue fell to a record low of $2.7 million on January 7th, fractionally behind its launch day earnings on October 30th. This could be a lull while players wait for the next major pack expansion, though of course $2.7 million being its worst day is still a remarkable success.
Surpassing the $400 million mark now lands TCG Pocket as the Pokémon franchise’s second highest-earning title of all time on mobile, racing ahead of the five-year-old Pokémon Masters in a mere 10 weeks as only AR goliath Pokémon Go remains in front.
And through the power of playground rumours, reaching Pokémon Go’s level of success may not be as impossible as it first seems.
