Generative AI platform Reforged Labs has released an AI-based ad creation service to make automated video advertisements for mobile games.
The service is currently available in open beta and has been built upon the company’s AI engine. It’s being marketed at indie devs and smaller studios.
The start-up said that it hopes to automate “what has long been an expensive and time-consuming creative process”.
Artificial ads
Reforged Labs has claimed to have trained its AI on “thousands” of successful game ads, with its open beta containing a “streamlined storefront” of templates modelled after them. It allows studios to choose AI-generated ads based on the successful marketing of other similar games.
Developers can also upload their own gameplay for the AI to select highlights from, as well as generate animations and audio over the top of this footage. The service offers localisation into more than 30 languages.
“We want to help level the playing field for game studios with limited resources,” said Reforged Labs CEO Robert Huynh.
“With our full-service creative solution that’s tailored for game marketing, studios can benefit from proven ad templates and AI-driven production and editing, all without lengthy briefs or big budgets.
“Right now, studios have to make some stark tradeoffs when it comes to creative development. Do we need to divert our designer’s time? Do we need to hire an agency? What are the top ads in my genre? Reforged Labs handles the entire process from ideation to delivery saving you time and money.”
Reforged Labs has already piloted its ad platform with “a dozen partners” from founders to triple-A studios and secured $3.9 million seed funding this August to refine its models.
“Mastering marketing has long been difficult, unpredictable, and the single largest expense for game developers, and we built Reforged Labs to tackle that challenge,” Huynh said at that time.
