The Resident Evil 4 remake is a fairly meaty package, offering up a 15-hour-plus campaign with plenty of reasons to replay, but some of the things fans were hoping for weren’t there at launch. This missing content includes the “Separate Ways” side campaign starring Ada Wong and the action-packed Mercenaries mode. Well, thanks to dataminers, we may have a bit more information about both.
Warning: This following post contains mild spoilers for Resident Evil 4.
One dataminer has found a reference to “The Another Order” in RE4’s code, which is what the Separate Ways campaign is known as in Japan. It seems this reference was found in a directory containing folders for other modes, including Mercenaries and the Chainsaw Demo.
Thanks to Gosetsu from the RE Wiki Discord, they managed to datamine Resident Evil 4 Remake and find evidence that “The Another Order”, otherwise known as “Separate Ways” exists in the files.

Most suspected Separate Ways would be coming to the new Resident Evil 4 at some point, with rumors spreading that Resident Evil 3 remake developer M-2 was working on the DLC. While the studio making it isn’t confirmed, it now seems more likely than ever that Separate Ways is in the works.
Dataminers have also uncovered details of the new RE4’s The Mercenaries mode, which is set to launch in April. It seems the lineup of characters will largely be the same as the original Mercenaries (Leon, Ada, Krauser, Wesker, and Hunk) with the addition of Luis, who had an expanded role in the RE4 remake. It seems there will also be a variety of alternate costumes – two for Leon and Ada have been revealed, but it’s likely everyone will get alternate looks.

Haven’t been keeping up with Resident Evil 4? I found it to be a solid, if somewhat conservative, remake in my full review…
“Resident Evil 4 was the ultimate test of Capcom’s remake skills, and unfortunately, they buckled a bit under the pressure. The game suffers from minor mechanical issues and doesn’t reinvent or elevate the original material as boldly as some might have hoped it would. That said, Capcom hasn’t broken anything either as this is still a fun, inventive thrill ride that has been brought up to modern technical standards in striking fashion. The new Resident Evil 4 is well worth it for fans of the series, just keep your hopes slightly in check and you won’t be spin-kicked by inflated expectations.”
Resident Evil 4 can be played on PC, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and PS5. The Mercenaries mode arrives as a free update on April 7.
