Facepunch Studios has released a new patch for Rust which also includes the latest seasonal event for Halloween. During the Darkness Falls event, players will be able to take part in a range of activities to celebrate, such as Trick or Treating, the ability to build Frankenstein’s Monster, and more.
To build Frankenstein’s Monster, players must first slay scarecrows and mummies roaming the lands in Rust. After successfully obtaining a head, torso, and legs, players will be able to craft themselves Frankenstein’s table, place the body parts within the table, and awaken their monster pet.
The player’s personal Frankenstein will follow orders without question and continue to follow them around the map, defend them if they’re attacked, and help slay enemies at their will.
During the in-game Trick-or-Treat event–which begins roughly every two in-game days–a candy hunt will begin. Taking part means players will have three minutes to find and collect as many candies as possible.
The top three players will then be given special loot as a reward which, when opened, will reward them with different types of items ranging from scrap to weapons, such as an M249. Players who don’t make it to the top three can upgrade their candies for better loot.
In addition, various items will be available to find during the event. For example, the Pumpkin Bucket will allow instant pickup of candies, while the Scarecrow Wrap and ghost costume will provide players with an advantage when using Candy Vision.
New Halloween-themed items have also been added to the Rust store, such as the Skull Rock and Pumpkin Carving for decorating your base, and last year’s items are also making a return.
The Rust Darkness Falls update is now available to download.
