Mobile game development studio SekGames has secured pre-seed investment from Qatar Development Bank.
The Istanbul-based developer said it will use the funds to accelerate its growth, expand its team, and enhance its mobile game offerings.
Founded in 2020, SekGames specialises in hybrid casual mobile titles, with hits like Police Station Idle and Dream Hospital.
SekGames was selected as one of 11 startups for the Startup Qatar Investment Program, standing out among nearly 2,000 applicants from around the world.
A path towards growth
“A huge thank you to Qatar Development Bank for believing in our vision and supporting SekGames’ growth and success,” the team wrote in a statement.
“We also extend our gratitude to our amazing team and partners who make this journey possible. If you’re passionate about mobile gaming, we’re hiring across multiple roles, reach-out and be part of this exciting adventure!”
Elsewhere, the success of top Turkish studios like Peak Games, Gram Games, and Rollic have sparked a wave of new game studios and investments in Türkiye.
At Pocket Gamer Connects San Francisco 2025, Irmak Tamgac of Bilkent CyberPark spoke about the industry’s growth, tracing milestones like Peak Games’ $1.8 billion sale to Zynga in 2020 and Dream Games achieving unicorn status in 2021.
