Sensor Tower has acquired market research company and games intelligence platform Video Game Insights in a move to expand coverage into PC, PlayStation and Xbox games.
Video Game Insights’ data has historically revolved around Steam, tracking over 150,000 titles on the platform and monitoring metrics like revenue, sales, player engagement and wishlist trends. The company also launched an intelligence initiative for consoles in recent months.
Its users include Krafton, Ubisoft, Bandai Namco and Smilegate.
As of the acquisition, Video Game Insights will operate as Video Game Insights by Sensor Tower.
Data-driven deal
Through the deal, Sensor Tower will aim to deliver a holistic and comprehensive cross-platform perspective of the games industry. The value of the deal was not disclosed.
