Ryujinx, the last remaining major Switch emulator, can already run the freshly-released Princess Peach: Showtime! with over 60fps.
Following the recent shutdown of the Yuzu emulator project, the Suyu project rose from its ashes with many developers working on the project. The emulator’s first build, however, has already been taken down following a DMCA takedown notice. This makes Ryujinx the last remaining major Switch emulator project for PC out there, and as can be seen in a new video, the emulator is already able to smoothly run Nintendo’s latest Switch release – Princess Peach: Showtime!
Granted, the Princess Peach game isn’t the most demanding Switch game available, but it’s still impressive to see that this new title runs with an uncapped framerate in less than a day after its global Switch launch. The new video shows Princess Peach running on Ryujinx 1.1.1242 on an Intel i9-14900k CPU combined with an NVIDIA RTX 4090 OC Edition and 48GB of RAM – granted, this system is no slouch. Of course, this isn’t the first time that a new Switch title runs so smoothly on Ryujinx shortly after its release. As a matter of fact, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom was already playable on both Ryujinx and Yuzu a week before the global launch of the Breath of the Wild sequel.
As always when emulating games, you’ll need to legally own a copy of the Switch game in order to emulate it on PC.
Princess Peach: Showtime! is available worldwide now for the Nintendo Switch. Here’s what we wrote about the game in our launch review: “Princess Peach: Showtime! is a treat, offering fun, approachable, and excitingly diverse gameplay as well as the most appealing (and downright cool) version of Nintendo’s heroine to date. The game is fairly brief and has some performance hiccups, but its target audience of younger players, and those just wanting to see Peach ditch the damsel role, will likely be too busy applauding her latest turn in the limelight to care.”
