It has been a while since we last saw anything of the Silent Hill 2 remake and other entries in the series, such as Townfall and Ascension, but there’s a very good chance that the wait is almost over, as revealed by a well-known insider.
Speaking on Discord, as reported on Reddit, Dusk Golem, who correctly revealed that the Silent Hill franchise was coming back before the official announcement from Konami, confirmed they have seen new trailers for all the new entries in the series mentioned above and that these trailers will be shown soon. While they couldn’t say which would get released to the public first, they did say that the first one will be shown before Summer Game Fest and before the month of June, so we will see it in the next couple of days.
Alongside confirming the existence of new trailers for the Silent Hill 2 remake and other new entries in the series, Dusk Golem revealed some additional tidbits on all three games, saying that the remake has great art direction, Townfall looks interesting, and Ascension looks visually stunning, which isn’t surprising, considering the type of experience it will be. The insider also talked about the trademarked The Short Message, saying that they are not sure if the project has been canceled or not.
The Silent Hill 2 remake is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated horror games releasing in the future. Currently in development by Polish developer Bloober Team, known for the Layers of Fear series, among other games, the game was rumored to be done, and its release timing is up to Konami. The Polish developer, however, later clarified that the game was not ready for release, blaming a translation error for the misunderstanding. As a new trailer is said to be ready, however, it is likely we will learn more about its release window when it finally gets released to the public.
