Mobile game platform Skich has launched its alternative app store on iPhone in Europe.
Skich is designed for mobile gamers and includes a recommendation system of 240 genres. The marketplace has launched on iOS in Europe today, with an Android version also in development.
The platform aims to improve developer-player engagement with dedicated profiles and discovery features.
Apple’s new EU regulations require alternative app stores to be installed through their own websites. As a result, Skich’s web platform has become the main access point, attracting visitors and growing at a rate of 20%.
“Time for a new approach”
The Skich Store provides developers with visibility through profile pages and branding opportunities. It claims that 50% of users download another game from the same studio once they make an install.
Since 2022, Skich has raised $1.5 million from GEM Capital to support product development and platform expansion.
“Game discovery has remained a major challenge for players and developers alike,” said Skich CEO Sergey Budkovski. “With AI making game production easier and competition fiercer, it’s time for a new approach.
“Skich Store is not just another app marketplace – it’s a platform designed specifically for gamers, making it easier than ever to find and enjoy new titles.”
