The team at TES Renewal finally shared a brief Halloween teaser of Skywind, the total conversion mod that aims to remake The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim’s engine.
Six months had passed from the 21-minute-long Necromancer demo, where the modders celebrated Morrowind’s 21st birthday and showed off the side mission where the player character, the Nerevarine, is asked by Tharer Rotheloth (master of Molag Mar’s Tribunal Temple) to find and dispatch the wanted Dark Elf Necromancer Delvam Andarys, who’s hiding in a Velothi tower called Mawia.
This Skywind teaser is only over a minute long, but it does provide a glimpse into the remade Corprusarium dungeon, comprised of a series of caverns beneath Tel Fyr.
This is where Divayth Fyr collects victims of the Corprus Disease and conducts experiments in the hope of finding a cure. Most victims of the Corprus Disease are sent to the Corprusarium from the Tribunal Temple.
The caves are guarded by Warden Vistha-Kai, but you are free to explore the entire area. However, you must not attack or kill the diseased inhabitants if you don’t want to anger Divayth Fyr. The Corprusarium is also home to the last known Dwemer, Yagrum Bagarn.
The Corprusarium is part of the main quest ‘Corprus Cure’.
We first covered Skywind in July 2019. Even back then, the total conversion mod had been many years in the making: the official website confirms that the project started as a port of Morroblivion (which intended to port Morrowind to Oblivion). As such, it is even older than Skyrim itself in some aspects. Unfortunately, there’s still no release date in sight.
Of course, with Bethesda Game Studios just about getting started on TESVI development, the TES Renewal team still has between three to four years before the next installment in the beloved fantasy series becomes available. Its sibling project, Skyblivion (the total conversion mod to remake Oblivion in Skyrim), already has a launch year: 2025.
