What I enjoy with any LED or RGB lighting kit is the amount of customization available. Razer went all out in this department, offering everything from effects like waves, breathing, cycling, and more!
The software was close to 415MB for the full package of apps. Each has its own functionality. You can connect to apps and games, each one with preprogrammed lighting effects meticulously made by Razer and their amazing community. You can also program each individual light in each strip. That’s 120 lights total that you get to play with to your heart’s content. You also can have it react to music, with so much editing of the lights that you will look like a professional after a few hours of nothing but tweaking every little detail.
With each Razer ARGB Chroma Light Strip Kit, you get:
- Razer Chroma Wireless ARGB Controller
- USB wireless transceiver
- Power adapter
- Interchangeable AC plugs
- 3 x Controller to LED strip connector cables
- 3x LED Strip protector clips
- 1 x 100cm LED strip
- 2 x 50cm LED strips

The one downfall, and it is so minor that I hate even saying anything about it, is the lights attract dust due to the housing they are in. I placed it on my carpeted floor as I was moving some things around on my desk, and having pets there will always be hair on the carpet that may not be noticeable to the naked eye. Once I picked up the kit, I had to gently wipe each one down because of the amount of hair that had picked up onto it.
It also reminded me I need to vacuum.
You really cannot go wrong with this set, especially if you are a hardcore lighting geek like myself. It does come with a hefty price tag for the basic set ($129.99 for the kit, $79.99 for the extension light kit), but you are getting a very quality setup. I personally am looking at replacing the original lights under my current desk and replacing them with the Razer ARGB Chroma lights.
These lights are much better than your run-of-the-mill LEDs and will last much longer than the very thin strips that you can get for much less. Even with the fact that they can easily collect dust or dirt, they are very easy to clean and are cool to the touch, so I never feel like a fire will start from the kit. I highly recommend the investment if you can swing it, especially for something that will last three to four times as long as the inexpensive LED light strips from your local stores.
