Sonic X Shadow Generation was released late last year, and now it’s gearing up to be a launch title for Nintendo Switch 2. Arriving on June 5, preorders are now open for the game, and there are some enticing preorder bonuses for reserving a copy in advance. If you’re unfamiliar with Sonic X Shadow Generations, it’s essentially two games in one. The first is a remaster of the classic Sonic Generations from 2011. The second is a brand new title, Shadow Generations, that wraps up a story arc beginning way back in 2001–and if you’re playing on Switch 2, you’ll benefit from enhanced graphics and improved frame rates. Reviews have been generally positive for the game, so give it a preorder if you’re interested in playing it later this year.
Sonic X Shadow Generations Switch 2 Preorder Bonuses
Preorder a physical version of Sonic X Shadow Generations for Switch 2, and you’ll get Gerald Robotnik’s Journal, a reversible case cover, and the Sonic Adventure Legacy Skin. The journal is the big selling point, however, as it’s a 28-page logbook detailing the creation of Shadow.
$50 | Releases June 5
Grab the base game and any eligible preorder bonuses with the standard edition of Sonic X Shadow Generations. Keep in mind that this will get you a 24GB game-key card, meaning you’ll need to download the full game before you start playing.
$60 | Releases June 5
If you’d like to get a bunch of digital goodies with your purchase, spend an extra $10 for the Digital Deluxe Edition. Along with the base game, it includes the following:
- Digital Deluxe Season Pass
- Sonic the Hedgehog 3 Movie Pack
- Terios Skin
- Extra BGM Pack
- Digital art book and soundtrack
- Skill Points (Sonic Generations)
A bunch of great games are coming to Switch 2, including a handful from Sega like Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut, Puyo Puyo Tetris 2S, and Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army.
Sega Games for Switch 2
Beyond Sega, you’ll find dozens of Switch 2 games up for preorder ahead of the console’s June 5 release. The same goes for accessories, with controllers, microSD Express cards, charging docks, and carrying cases available for the upcoming console. We’d strongly recommend investing in at least a carrying case. If you find the Nintendo ones to be too expensive, check out the ones offered by GameStop or these discounted accessories at Amazon.
