During the Xbox Developer Direct 2025, Compulsion Games (Contrast, We Happy Few) revealed the release date for South of Midnight, their first game since being acquired by Microsoft in 2018. South of Midnight will be available through PC or Xbox Series S|X on April 8 (a month later than the previously rumored date), which is also when Game Pass subscribers will find it in their libraries.
Pre-orders are now open, too. The Premium Edition includes up to five days of early access and digital access (in English) to:

During the showcase, Game Director Jasmin Roy discussed some of South of Midnight’s key spells:
Push, Pull, and Weave are some of the spells at your disposal that give you a tactical advantage during a fight. Timing is everything. Pull distant enemies close to start melee combos, push them back to interrupt and stun their attack, then press the advantage with follow-up strikes.
The game is expected to take between ten to twelve hours to complete.
