Square Enix is shutting down its War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius mobile game.
The publisher said that it is unable to provide players with a “satisfactory app experience” and has made the decision to discontinue the game.
The title will remain playable until May 29th, 2025 after which service will be suspended. However, in-game purchases will end sooner on March 25th, 2025.
Shutdown imminent
Square Enix said players can continue using any remaining Visiore until the game’s full shutdown on May 29th. In-game events will also continue to run until the service officially ends.
For Android users, the ability to exchange Google Play Points for in-game items will end on April 30, 2025. However, any previously exchanged Visiore can still be used until the game’s service officially ends.
“Since War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius’s launch on 3/25/2020, we’ve strived to provide an enjoyable gaming experience for our players every day that could exceed the day before,” the team wrote in a post.
“However, we’ve come to the conclusion that it would be difficult to maintain a satisfactory app experience, and therefore to discontinue the app service.
“We would like to express our deepest gratitude to all of our players for their patronage and sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by this news.”
Square Enix has a history of shutting down its mobile titles, including Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius, which ended service on October 30th, 2024, after nearly nine years.
Moreover, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles was removed from the App Store earlier this year due to an unfixable in-app purchase bug affecting the iOS version, though it remains available on other platforms.
