During his adventure in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Cal will have to take down a variety of dangerous enemies that will put his Lightsaber and Force skills to the test. From ferocious beasts to raiders and Imperial Inquisitors, it seems like the entire galaxy has it for the young Jedi Knight.
If the enemies you will encounter during the main quest are still not challenging enough, you will have the chance to get off the beaten path and fight some optional enemies that are very difficult to beat. Among the strongest of them is the Spawn of Oggdo.
How to Beat Spawn of Oggdo in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor
The Spawn of Oggdo is a powerful enemy you can encounter on planet Koboh. As the enemy is located in an area you won’t have to explore to move the main Star Wars Jedi: Survivor story forward, you may skip it entirely, but if you’re looking to fully complete the game and obtain every reward, you will have to fight it.
The Spawn of Oggdo can be found in the Fort Kah’lin area, one of the Bedlam Raider strongholds on Koboh. You can reach this area as soon as you get to Koboh for the first time at the start of the game, but you will likely be unable to defeat the Spawn of Oggdo during your first visit to the planet, as the enemy is very strong, hits hard and has a one-hit kill attack that can only be dodged.
To reach the Spawn of Oggdo, warp to the Fort Kah’lin Meditation Point and use your grapple to get inside the tunnel ahead. Navigate the corridors while fighting droids and raiders, and you will eventually reach an open area with multiple droids and two hammer-wielding raiders. This is the same area you can use to farm XP quickly. Once you are here, dispose of the droids and head towards the shining point at the center of the area to fall inside a pit where the Spawn of Oggdo awaits.
While it is entirely possible to defeat the Spawn of Oggdo without healing too much, I suggest you head into the battle only after having acquired at least 8 Healing Stims or more. The enemy hits hard and can be a little unpredictable in its attack patterns, which get expanded as the enemy’s health is depleted, so you will want to be able to heal as much as possible.
Like for many difficult fights in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, the key to defeating the Spawn of Oggdo is to be patient and learn how to avoid each of the monster’s attacks properly and attack only when it is safe to do so. While the short-range bites can be parried, which you should be doing to deplete the monster’s block gauge, other attacks cannot. The standing jumping attack, for example, requires you to double jump backward to avoid both the monster and the resulting shockwave. The lunge, on the other hand, requires you to either wait and dodge to the side at the very last second or, better yet, jump over the charging monster with a double jump. The tongue attack, which can kill Cal in a single hit, must be avoided by jumping either forward or to the side. As this is the attack with the most recovery, if you have learned Force Dash, or are using the Single Lightsaber Stance and have learned skills that let Cal close the gap with an enemy on the ground or in the air, you can use this opportunity to strike the enemy multiple times. Every other attack has a small window of opportunity, so attack the enemy only once to avoid getting damaged.
As for which Lightsaber Stance works best in this difficult Star Wars Jedi: Survivor fight, there isn’t a clear winner. Given the short windows of opportunity, attacking quickly is key, so the Dual Wield Stance works particularly well. Blaster Stance works great to fight from long range, although you will eventually have to get close to the Spawn of Oggdo to replenish your ammo. No matter the Stance you are using, never forget to be patient, and you will eventually be able to take down one of the strongest enemies in the game. The rewards for this accomplishment are some XP points and the Poncho outfit.
